Since GasSLX shocks contain gas, why don’t they extend on their own when taken out of the box?

GasSLX's gas cell technology differs from a traditional gas-charge as the gas is contained within a sealed “cell”. The gas can't escape through the rod seal meaning the shock doesn't expand when taken out of the box like most gas-charged shocks do.

I have a light film of oil on my shock, does it need to be replaced?

Probably not. Shocks are designed to "mist" slightly & this film helps lubricate the seal as the piston rod moves. A light uniform misting is normal, but streaking patterns aren't and should be investigated. Remember: If it's streaking, it's leaking!

My tires are unevenly worn. Do I need to replace my ride control components?

Possibly. Cupping of the tires is commonly seen as an indicator of worn shocks However, other types of tire wear can also be caused by worn ride control parts.

How can I check my HD shocks?

Gabriel recommends you have your commercial vehicle shocks visually inspected every 15,000 miles and perform the Gabriel Heat Test every 50,000 miles. More information at CheckYourShocks.com
